The outer insulation is mainly made of PVC, but there are also eco-cables that are difficult to recycle. The incoming F cables are checked to ensure that there are no mixed plated wires or weak wires, and those without issues are crushed by a machine called a nugget machine and shipped as No. 1 nuggets.
